Here’s the scene: You wake up after dreaming about a horrible plane crash, and you’re scheduled to board an aircraft later in the day for a long-awaited trip. Will that nightmare have any effect on whether you continue with your plans?

Possibly, according to a new multi-cultural study involving nearly 1,100 people around the world. You may not cancel your trip, but your dream will probably weigh as heavily on your thoughts as if there had been a real plane crash that day, not just a dream, according to the study, published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology.

A new study explores how dreams affect our behavior. If you dreamed about a plane crash, would you board a plane the next day?

    I hope as well.
    I think most of the time dreams are a intimate and sometimes more dramatic reflection of underlying emotions/feelings you are experiencing at the time…
    That being said, I also do not think that humanity has evolved enough to have a true understanding of our subconscious or the mind itself. I do believe some people are more apt than others to be more open and perceptive to things. On a lower level, this would be your “gut” feeling about something or someone. On a higher level, this could be transcendental astral trips, seeing beyond the current timeline, seeing energy fields around people or objects, or actually manipulation of reality as we know it…
    Until we are responsible enough to handle that kind of understanding, I hope it remains a mystery to those in power…

    I’d still board the plain, I believe dreams can tell us what scenarios you believe might happen (creativity at work), I don’t think they have anything to do with what will happen (reality), unless you are lucky at guessing. I hope I’m wrong and I’ll see you Veritas in the afterlife.
