The Year of the Ox got off to an inauspicious start for American workers.

The Year of the Ox, year 4706 in the Chinese lunar calendar, is supposed to represent prosperity through perseverance and hard work. But the hope for a better year in 2009 was being dashed by the job losses and the growing concern that many more would join the ranks of the 2.6 million who became unemployed in 2008.
A slew of American heavyweight companies, including Caterpillar, Pfizer, Sprint Nextel, Home Depot and General Motors announced thousands of job cuts Monday. What’s more, a group of business economists predicted many more job losses in the year ahead.

I saw a amborghini today.. I wonder what that dude does? Rich get richer while the rest of the world sinks lower and lower. I feel like the Goat.
All these job cuts will continue to drag the recession deeper and deeper, because no one will spend. Unless there’s spending, these companies will not succeed, unless they merge, and keep on merging, until we have uber giant companies that will never be allowed to fail, cause they will control everything.
